New Delhi: After President Pranab Mukherjee
addressed today's joint session of Parliament, Prim
Minister Narendra Modi greeted Rahul Gandhi
warmly.
The Congress Vice-President was seated in the
eighth row of the Central Hall of Parliament along
with senior Congress leaders Motilal Vora and
Jairam Ramesh.
As soon as the PM, dressed in his usual half-
sleeved kurta and jacket came close to Mr Gandhi,
he reached out to him with his hand, reports the
Press Trust of India. The two then exchanged a fe
words.
Mr Gandhi and the PM traded professional-grade
insults during a bitter campaign for the national
election, which resulted in a spectacular win for Mr
Modi and his party.
Before the President's address began, Mr Gandhi's
mother and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi was seen
engaged in a prolonged chat with BJP leader LK
Advani who was seated next to her in the packed
Central Hall.
A number of MPs, including Chandan Mitra, Babul
Supriyo, Rajyavarhan Rathore and Manoj Tewari,
who could not find a seat, kept standing during the
President's 55-minute address.
