Maharashtra to tell HC if nightlife proposal considered women safety

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government is
expected to tell the Bombay High Court on
Friday whether it has considered the safety of
women while proposing to allow "bars and
pubs" to stay open all night.
On March 5 a bench of Justice Abhay Oka and
Justice Anil Menon specifically asked, "Whether
State government has taken into consideration
the safety of women? The bench then expressed
its apprehension that in a city like Mumbai a
situation will arise."
